With Majaddara I have dedicated an ode
all humankind; I have included a wondrous verse about it:
That is beloved to all creation
فكأنَّso it is as though وجهَكِyour face فوقَهُupon it جُدَريُّهُits pockmarks
فكأنَّ وجهَكِ فوقَهُ جُدَريُّهُ
ذَهَبٌgold بِسِمْطَيْwith two strands of لؤلؤٍpearls قَدْindeed رُصِّعاwas inlaid
ذَهَبٌ بِسِمْطَيْ لؤلؤٍ قَدْ رُصِّعا
So it is as though your face, with its pockmarks upon it,
As though your face upon it were a drape
were gold inlaid with two strands of pearls.
Of gold embroidered with pearls of great elation
