إنَّ للشامِ فراتاً

لم تصلْ مصرُ إليها

لم تصلْ مصرُ إليها

Indeed, Syria has a Euphrates;

The Levant has an Euphrates

Egypt has not matched her.

That Egypt has never reached

كمْ بمصرٍ من وجوهٍ

نَفَضَ النيلُ عليها
