قُسِّمْتُ قسمةَ عدْلٍ

قُسِّمْتُ قسمةَ عدْلٍ

فصرْتُ عندَ الصدورِ

I was apportioned in a fair division,

I was apportioned in fairness

And so I came to be among the eminent;

Thus I stood among the bosoms

وقدْ تقنَّعتُ مِنهمْ

وقدْ تقنَّعتُ مِنهمْ

بما يقيمُ سطوري

بما يقيمُ سطوري

And I have been content to receive from them

And I had become content with them

What sustains my lines.

With what makes my lines upright
