عانقتُهُ حتى ارتوتْ
خدَّاهُhis two cheeks مِنْfrom عينيَّmy two eyes دَمْعَاtears
خدَّاهُ مِنْ عينيَّ دَمْعَا
I embraced him until
his cheeks drank their fill of tears from my eyes.
روضُgarden المحاسنِof beauties خدُّهُhis cheek
روضُ المحاسنِ خدُّهُ
مِنْof حقِّهِhis right يُسقىis watered ويُرعىand is tended
مِنْ حقِّهِ يُسقى ويُرعى
The garden of beauties is his cheek;
it deserves to be watered and tended.
