سامرْتُ سامريَّةً

كأنها الغصنُ النضرْ
I conversed by night with a Samaritan woman,
I conversed with a fair maiden,
As though she were a fresh, green bough.
As if she were a tender branch,
بطرفِهاthrough her gaze وقدِّهاand her stature
بطرفِها وقدِّها

يُذكر موسى والخضرْ
Through her gaze and her stature,
With her charm and grace,
Moses and al-Khidr are brought to mind.
She reminds me of Moses and Al-Khidhr.
