سألتُ بارئَ النسمْ

في دفعِ طاعونٍ صَدَمْ

I asked the Creator of souls

I asked the Creator of the breeze

to ward off a plague that struck.

In driving away a shocking plague

فَمَنْ أحسَّ بلعَ دمٍ

فَمَنْ أحسَّ بلعَ دمٍ

فقدْ أحسَّ بالعدمْ

فقدْ أحسَّ بالعدمْ

So whoever has felt himself swallowing blood

So whoever felt a gulp of blood

has indeed felt annihilation.

Felt the touch of nothingness
