قدْindeed ألقتِcast النارُthe fire وجنتاهُhis two cheeks
قدْ ألقتِ النارُ وجنتاهُ
فيناinto us وقدْand indeed صاحتِcried out الحريقاFire!
فينا وقدْ صاحتِ الحريقا
His cheeks have cast fire
Into us, and cried out, “Fire!”
والثغرُand the mouth بالطرفِwith the gaze قدْindeed حماهُhe guarded it
والثغرُ بالطرفِ قدْ حماهُ
فراقَso it charmed طيباًin fragrance وطابَand was sweet ريقاin saliva
فراقَ طيباً وطابَ ريقا
And he has guarded his mouth with his gaze;
So it charmed with its fragrance, and its saliva was sweet.
