رمىhe shot لحظَهُhis glance فأصابَand so struck الحشاthe heart
رمى لحظَهُ فأصابَ الحشا
قضيبُa bough نقاa sand dune ماسَhe swayed فيin بُرْدِهِhis mantle
قضيبُ نقا ماسَ في بُرْدِهِ
He shot his glance and struck the heart.
A bough upon a sand dune, he swayed in his mantle.
فلمْso did not أَرَI see أرْشَقَsurer in aim مِنْthan لحظِهِhis glance
فلمْ أَرَ أرْشَقَ مِنْ لحظِهِ
ولمْand did not أرَI see أرشقَmore graceful مِنْthan قدِّهِhis figure
ولمْ أرَ أرشقَ مِنْ قدِّهِ
So I have seen nothing surer in aim than his glance,
nor anything more graceful than his figure.
