He mirrored agate and the sand dune
He told of carnelian and pearls
with sand and fingertips,
With sand and fingers
وقالَand he said وَصْلِيunion with me عقلةٌa fetter
وقالَ وَصْلِي عقلةٌ
إلاexcept بقبضٍthrough a grasp داخلِinward
إلا بقبضٍ داخلِ
and said: “Union with me is a fetter,
And said, my wrists are fettered
except through an inward grasp.”
Save by a clasping from within
