شكاhe complained منَof الخطِّthe handwriting ضعفاًweakness
شكا منَ الخطِّ ضعفاً
وذاكَand that منهُon his part دلالُcoyness
وذاكَ منهُ دلالُ
He complained of weakness in his handwriting.
He complained of the pen's weakness
And that was coyness on his part.
Yet that was a sign from it
قلتُI said استعنْseek help بمثالٍwith a model
قلتُ استعنْ بمثالٍ
فقالَso he said ماليI have no مثالُequal
فقالَ مالي مثالُ
I said, “Seek help from a model.”
I said seek help from an example
He replied, “I have no equal.”
But it said I have no example
