مشتملاًgirded بالسيفِwith the sword قدindeed زارنيhe visited me
مشتملاً بالسيفِ قد زارني
وكنتُand I was لاnot أطمعُI hope فيfor الطيفِthe dream-vision
وكنتُ لا أطمعُ في الطيفِ
Girded with a sword, he visited me,
Bearing a sword, he came to visit me
And I had not hoped even for a dream-vision.
Yet I had no hope of seeing him
فقالَthen he said خائفاًfearing كلامَtalk of العدىthe enemies
فقالَ خائفاً كلامَ العدى
فيكَabout you وقدْand indeed زرْتكَI visited you بالسيفِwith the sword
فيكَ وقدْ زرْتكَ بالسيفِ
Then he said, “Fearing the enemies’ talk
Fearfully he spoke the words of an enemy
About you, I have indeed visited you with a sword.”
