مشتملاًgirded بالسيفِwith a sword قدْindeed زارنيhe visited me
مشتملاً بالسيفِ قدْ زارني
وكنتُand I was لاnot أطمعُI hope فيfor الطيفِthe dream-apparition
وكنتُ لا أطمعُ في الطيفِ
Girded with a sword, he visited me,
Bearing his sword he came to see me,
though I had not hoped even for his apparition in a dream.
Though I had hoped no more he’d be.
وقالand he said خالفْتُI defied كلامَthe words of العدىthe enemies
وقال خالفْتُ كلامَ العدى
فيكَabout you وقدand indeed زرتُكَI visited you بالسيفِwith a sword
فيكَ وقد زرتُكَ بالسيفِ
And he said, “I have defied the enemies’ words
He said, “I have ignored my foes’ decree
about you, and I have visited you with a sword.”
To see you here, with sword on me.”
