أجزتُهم كلَّ ما أرادوا

أجزتُهم كلَّ ما أرادوا

إذا وفى شرطَهُ العزيزُ

إذا وفى شرطَهُ العزيزُ

I have granted them permission for all they desired,

provided al-ʿAzīz fulfills his condition—

قوماً أحقُّ الورى بمدحي

قوماً أحقُّ الورى بمدحي

فها أنا المادحُ المجيزُ

فها أنا المادحُ المجيزُ

a people most deserving, among all humankind, of my praise.

So here I am, the praiser, the giver of permission.
