إنَّما أهرامُ مصرَ مهلكٌ

إنَّما أهرامُ مصرَ مهلكٌ

كلُّ مَنْ غرَّرَ فيها يُخترمْ

كلُّ مَنْ غرَّرَ فيها يُخترمْ

Egypt’s pyramids are nothing but a deathtrap;

Whoever risks his life within them meets his end.

قالَ قومٌ ما هوَ الشرُّ الذي

يتمناهُ الفتى قلتُ الهرمْ

يتمناهُ الفتى قلتُ الهرمْ

Some people asked, “What is the evil that

a young man wishes for?” I said, “Old age.”
