فقلتُ صعبٌ ملاجُهُ
During the fast, she sought union with me.
So I said, "It is hard to approach."
قالتْshe said فخدِّيbut my cheek وردٌa rose
قالتْ فخدِّي وردٌ
قلتُI said الصيامُfasting سياجُهُits fence
قلتُ الصيامُ سياجُهُ
She said, "But my cheek is a rose."
I said, "Fasting is its fence."
