رأيتُI saw ظبياًa gazelle كُسرَتْwas broken
رأيتُ ظبياً كُسرَتْ
منهُof his يدٌa hand لماwhen نَفَرْhe fled
منهُ يدٌ لما نَفَرْ
I saw a gazelle whose foreleg was broken
I saw a gazelle whose
when it took fright and bounded away.
hand was broken when he fled.
إنْif كُسرَتْwas broken منهُof his يدٌa hand
إنْ كُسرَتْ منهُ يدٌ
يوماًone day فكمْthen how many قلبٍhearts كسرْhe broke
يوماً فكمْ قلبٍ كسرْ
If one of its forelegs was broken
If his hand was broken
one day—how many hearts had it broken?
one day, how many hearts has he broken!
