يا منْ أعارَ الليثَ حسنَ اللقا

يا منْ أعارَ الليثَ حسنَ اللقا

وَكَمْ أعارَ السُّحُبَ الهطْلا

وَكَمْ أعارَ السُّحُبَ الهطْلا

O you who lent the lion grace in encounter,

And how often you lent the clouds their pouring rain!

بعضُكَ في الجودِ ككل الورى

بعضُكَ في الجودِ ككل الورى

فاعجبْ لبعضٍ يعدلُ الكلا

فاعجبْ لبعضٍ يعدلُ الكلا

A part of you, in generosity, is like all humankind;

So marvel at a part that equals the whole!
