لا واخذَ الرحمنُ مصراً ولا

لا واخذَ الرحمنُ مصراً ولا

أزالَ عنها حسنَ ديباجهْ

أزالَ عنها حسنَ ديباجهْ

May the Most Merciful not call Egypt to account, nor

strip it of the beauty of its brocade.

ولَّوا علينا قاضياً ثالثاً

ولَّوا علينا قاضياً ثالثاً

ما كانَ للناسِ بهِ حاجَهْ

ما كانَ للناسِ بهِ حاجَهْ

They appointed a third judge over us,

whom the people had no need of.
