لهُ في حكمهِ خَبْطُ

Scant in jurisprudence and prone to solecisms,

He knows little law and errs in speech;

he blunders in his rulings;

his judgment is full of blunders.

قبيحُ الشكل محتدٌّ

قبيحُ الشكل محتدٌّ

فلا شكلٌ ولا ضبطُ

فلا شكلٌ ولا ضبطُ

ugly in appearance and quick-tempered—

Ugly in appearance, hot-tempered—

so he has neither proper form nor self-command.

so neither good form nor precision.
