وما كانَ ظني أنْ يكونَ الفتى كذا

وما كانَ ظني أنْ يكونَ الفتى كذا

ذكاءً ولكنْ مَنْ يودُّكَ مقبلُ

ذكاءً ولكنْ مَنْ يودُّكَ مقبلُ

And I had not thought the young man would be so

brilliant; yet whoever loves you is fortunate.

وما حدباتُ الأذكياءِ نقيصةٌ

وما حدباتُ الأذكياءِ نقيصةٌ

عليهم ولكنْ تلكَ للعلمِ أحملُ

عليهم ولكنْ تلكَ للعلمِ أحملُ

And the humps of the intelligent are no defect

in them; rather, those humps bear learning better.

فدمْ في أمانِ اللهِ فضلُكَ وافرٌ

فدمْ في أمانِ اللهِ فضلُكَ وافرٌ

وعرضُكَ موفورٌ وذكرُكَ أوَّلُ

وعرضُكَ موفورٌ وذكرُكَ أوَّلُ

So remain in God's safekeeping, your merit abundant,

and your honor undiminished, and your renown foremost.
