ومالكيٍّ جاهلٍ باخلٍ

ومالكيٍّ جاهلٍ باخلٍ

لا باركَ الرحمنُ في عمرِهِ

لا باركَ الرحمنُ في عمرِهِ

And an ignorant, miserly Mālikī—

May the Most Merciful not bless his life.

جفنتُهُ أضيقُ مِنْ جفنهِ

جفنتُهُ أضيقُ مِنْ جفنهِ

وقدْرُه أصغر من ِقدْرِهِ

وقدْرُه أصغر من ِقدْرِهِ

His serving bowl is narrower than his eyelid,

And his worth is smaller than his cooking pot.
