قدindeed ألقتِcast النارَfire وجنتاهُhis two cheeks
قد ألقتِ النارَ وجنتاهُ
فيناinto us وقدْand indeed صاحتِcried out الحريقاFire!
فينا وقدْ صاحتِ الحريقا
His cheeks have cast fire
into us, and have cried out, “Fire!”
والثغرُand the mouth بالطرفِwith the gaze قدْindeed حماهُhe guarded it
والثغرُ بالطرفِ قدْ حماهُ
إذْfor راقَwas pleasing لمساًto the touch وطابَand was sweet ريقاin saliva
إذْ راقَ لمساً وطابَ ريقا
And he has guarded his mouth with his gaze,
for it is pleasing to touch, and its saliva is sweet.
