وليس وفاتهم بالردم نَقْصاً

وليس وفاتهم بالردم نَقْصاً

لقدرهمُ ففي الشهداء صاروا

لقدرهمُ ففي الشهداء صاروا

And their death beneath the rubble does not diminish

Their loss is no defect of their worth

Their standing, for they have joined the martyrs.

For martyrs they have become

وما في سطوةِ الخلاّقِ عيبٌ

وما في سطوةِ الخلاّقِ عيبٌ

ولا في ذلّةِ المخلوقِ عارُ

ولا في ذلّةِ المخلوقِ عارُ

And there is no fault in the Creator's might,

And in the Creator's might no flaw

Nor shame in the creature's lowliness.

Nor in the creature's lowliness, shame
