فقلتُ بالنونِ وبالكافِ
And someone asked, “Is his gaze languid?”
A questioner asked, has his glance grown listless?
So I replied, “With nūn and with kāf—bewitching and deadly.”
I said, by the N and K,
مِنْfrom جبلِMount الريانِal-Rayyān أردافُهُhis buttocks
مِنْ جبلِ الريانِ أردافُهُ
وصدغُهُand his temple-lock المعطوفُcurved مِنْfrom قافِQāf
وصدغُهُ المعطوفُ مِنْ قافِ
His buttocks are from Mount al-Rayyān,
His hips are from Mount Rayyan,
And his curved temple-lock is from Qāf.
His sculpted cheek from Mount Qaf.
