وأقسمُ ما ذاكَ منهم سُدى

وأقسمُ ما ذاكَ منهم سُدى

فأفهامُهم فوقَ أفهامِنا

فأفهامُهم فوقَ أفهامِنا

And I swear, that is not in vain on their part;

I swear it's not in vain, their minds

For their understanding is above our understanding.

Are far beyond our own designs

ولو قلتُ ما سرُّ ذا أنشدوا

ولو قلتُ ما سرُّ ذا أنشدوا

جماجمُنَا تحتَ أقدامِنا

جماجمُنَا تحتَ أقدامِنا

And if I said, “What is the secret of this?” they would recite:

And if I said what songs they've played

“Our skulls are beneath our feet.”

Our heads are underneath their feet
