Your hunter’s cheek bears a text,
Hariri-like—a witticism among witticisms.
تقولُit says لنبتِto the growth of العذارِthe cheek-down اجتهدْstrive
تقولُ لنبتِ العذارِ اجتهدْ
ومُدَّand spread الشباكَthe nets وصِدْand catch مَنْwhoever سَنَحْcomes into view
ومُدَّ الشباكَ وصِدْ مَنْ سَنَحْ
It tells the budding cheek-down: “Strive,
And spread the nets, and catch whoever appears.”
