قالتْ وناولْتُها سواكا

سادَ بفيها على الأراكِ
She said, as I handed her a tooth-stick
She said and handed me her miswak
that, in her mouth, reigned over the arak tree:
It prevailed in her mouth on the sofa
سوايَother than me ماnot ذاقَtasted طعمthe taste of ريقيmy saliva
سوايَ ما ذاقَ طعم ريقي
قلتI said بلىyes indeed ذاقهtasted it سواكيyour tooth-stick
قلت بلى ذاقه سواكي
"No one but me has tasted my saliva."
My miswak never tasted my saliva
I said, "Indeed, your tooth-stick has tasted it."
I said yes, your miswak tasted it
