وأصدُّهُمْ عنْ بدعةٍ

عَظُمَتْ فخيفَ لها السطا

And I turn them away from an innovation

I see light when darkness falls

That grew so great that violence on its account was feared;

Your sun inside me still shines

وأردُّهُم عنْ خطةٍ

وأردُّهُم عنْ خطةٍ

أُلِفَتْ فألقتْ في الخطا

أُلِفَتْ فألقتْ في الخطا

And I turn them back from a course of action

Though storms may batter these walls

That had become habitual, and so cast them into error.

They'll not shake this heart of mine
