وردٌ بخدك يخشى
شمسَthe sun الجبينِof the brow المطلَّهْpeering forth
شمسَ الجبينِ المطلَّهْ
A rose upon your cheek fears
A rose on your cheek fears
the sun of your brow, peering forth.
The shining sun on your radiant brow
قدْalready مدَّspread بالشعرِwith the hair ظلاًshade
قدْ مدَّ بالشعرِ ظلاً
فأسبغَso may ... make ample اللهُGod ظلَّهْits shade
فأسبغَ اللهُ ظلَّهْ
It has spread shade with the hair;
It spread its locks' shade
so may God make its shade ample.
So God poured His shade over it
