فقيرةٌ غنيَّةٌ

فقيرةٌ غنيَّةٌ

مرَّتْ بنا وقد خَلَتْ

مرَّتْ بنا وقد خَلَتْ

A poor woman, yet rich,

Poor yet wealthy,

passed by us, and she was alone.

She passed by us and was gone.

سبْحتُها في كفِّها

سبْحتُها في كفِّها

عدَّتْ بها مَنْ قَتَلَتْ

عدَّتْ بها مَنْ قَتَلَتْ

Her prayer beads in her palm,

In her palm a rosary

she counted with them those she had slain.

Counting those she had slain.
