سبّاكُa caster تبرٍraw gold وفضَّةٍand silver صَهَرَتْmelted
سبّاكُ تبرٍ وفضَّةٍ صَهَرَتْ
نواهُhis absence قلبيmy heart فسرَّهُand so delighted him ذاكاthat
نواهُ قلبي فسرَّهُ ذاكا
A caster of raw gold and silver—his absence melted
A silversmith of soil and silver melted
My heart, and that delighted him.
My heart's desires so I confided in him
قلتُI said لهُto him قدْalready سُبيwas taken captive أبيmy father وأخيand my brother
قلتُ لهُ قدْ سُبي أبي وأخي
قالَhe said نعمْyes مذْsince عشقتَyou fell in love with سبّاكاa caster
قالَ نعمْ مذْ عشقتَ سبّاكا
I said to him, “My father and brother have been taken captive.”
I said, "My father and brother were taken captive"
He said, “Yes, since you fell in love with a caster.”
He said, "Yes, since you fell for a silversmith"
