يا روضةَ حسنٍ ليتَها لي وحدي
الشركةُsharing فيكِin you قَدْindeed أذابَتْhas melted كبديmy liver
الشركةُ فيكِ قَدْ أذابَتْ كبدي
O garden of beauty—if only you were mine alone!
O garden of beauty, would that it were mine alone!
Sharing you has melted my liver.
Sharing you has indeed melted my liver.
ماwhat ضرَّكِwould harm you أنْto تُسقيbe watered بماءِwith the water of فردِone person
ما ضرَّكِ أنْ تُسقي بماءِ فردِ
والواجبُand what is proper أنْthat يكونَit should be ماءَwater of الوردِthe roses
والواجبُ أنْ يكونَ ماءَ الوردِ
