دنيا إذا أحسنَتْ أساءَتْ

دنيا إذا أحسنَتْ أساءَتْ

ودأبُها وضعُ مَنْ ترقَّى

ودأبُها وضعُ مَنْ ترقَّى

When the world does good, it does harm.

If the world treats you well, it treats you badly

And its habit is to bring low whoever rises.

And its habit is to debase whoever rises high

مالَتْ إلى مَنْ يميلُ عنها

مالَتْ إلى مَنْ يميلُ عنها

فالزاهدونَ الملوكُ حقّا

فالزاهدونَ الملوكُ حقّا

It inclines toward whoever turns away from it.

It leans towards whoever turns away from it

So the ascetics are truly kings.

So the ascetics are the true kings
