يجلُّis exalted عمّاabove what أبنْتَyou expressed عنهُabout it
يجلُّ عمّا أبنْتَ عنهُ
Your worth, my friend, and mine
Your worth, my friend, and mine
are loftier than what you have said of them.
Is far above what you have built
مَنْsomeone لستُI am not أرضىcontent لهُfor him قليلاًa little
مَنْ لستُ أرضى لهُ قليلاً
فكيفَso how أرضىam I content القليلَthe little منهُfrom him
فكيفَ أرضى القليلَ منهُ
One for whom I am not content with little—
I who am not content with little
how, then, could I be content with little from him?
How could I be content with less?
