ماnot ماتَhas died مَنْone who هذيthese صفاتُهْhis qualities
ما ماتَ مَنْ هذي صفاتُهْ
فوفاةُfor the death of ذاthis one عنديin my view حياتُهْhis life
فوفاةُ ذا عندي حياتُهْ
He whose qualities are these has not died;
He who bore such traits ne'er died,
For this man's death is, to me, his life.
For in my eyes, his life signified.
إنْif ماتَhas died هذاthis one صورةًin outward form
إنْ ماتَ هذا صورةً
أحيَتْهُrevived him معنىًin spirit سالفاتُهْhis past deeds
أحيَتْهُ معنىً سالفاتُهْ
If this man has died in outward form,
If outwardly this form expired,
His past deeds have revived him in spirit.
His legacy and works inspired.
