1. وبي بدويَّةٌ فتكَتْ

    بأفئدةٍ وأكبادِ

    And I am smitten with a Bedouin woman who laid waste

    to hearts and livers.

  2. بدتْ كالبدْرِ في حَضَرِ

    فقالوا الفضلُ للبادي

    She appeared like the full moon among townsfolk,

    so they said, “The desert-dweller has the advantage.”
