قلْSay لمنْto whoever لامَreproached لكونيfor my being
قلْ لمنْ لامَ لكوني
فيin مكانٍa place غيرِwithout طائلْworth
في مكانٍ غيرِ طائلْ
Say to whoever reproached me for being
Say to him who blames my being
in a place of no worth:
In a place other than my worth
هكذاthus الفاضلُthe man of merit مثليlike me
هكذا الفاضلُ مثلي
عندَat قسمِthe apportionment of الرزقِsustenance فاضلْleft over
عندَ قسمِ الرزقِ فاضلْ
Thus a man of merit like me
So the virtuous man like me
is left over when sustenance is apportioned.
Is favored in fortune's dearth
