إنَّ بنت الغربِ في موكبها

O daughters of the East, beware the onslaught.

ما ظهورُ البدرِ مِنْ مشرقِهِ

كطلوعُ الشمسِ مِنْ مغربِها

The full moon’s emergence from its eastern horizon is not

Is not like the rising of the moon from its rising place,

like the sun’s rising from its western horizon.

Nor like the rising of the sun from its setting place.
