في أَخذ عرضِ المجدِ أشبهاها
The wife of Majd al-Din—her two parents
The wife of Majd al-Din, her parents
resembled her in taking Majd’s honor.
In striving for glory’s wealth made her their peer.
إنَّindeed أباهاher father وأباand the father of أباهاher father
إنَّ أباها وأبا أباها
قدْalready بلغاthe two reached فيin المجدِglory غايتاهاher two goals
قدْ بلغا في المجدِ غايتاها
Indeed, her father and her father’s father
Her father and her father's father too
have reached her two goals in glory.
Attained the utmost heights of fame, 'tis clear.
