إذا حملَ الفتى همّاً فجهلٌ

إذا حملَ الفتى همّاً فجهلٌ

فإنَّ اللهَ يلطفُ بالعبيدِ

فإنَّ اللهَ يلطفُ بالعبيدِ

If a young man bears worry, that is folly;

When the young man bears a burden of woe in ignorance,

For God deals gently with His servants.

God shows tenderness towards the slaves.

وكمْ للهِ منْ فرجٍ سريعٍ

وكمْ للهِ منْ فرجٍ سريعٍ

نفضِّلُهُ على فرجِ البريدي

نفضِّلُهُ على فرجِ البريدي

And how many a swift relief comes from God,

And how many a speedy relief has God,

Which we prefer to Faraj al-Barīdī.

Which we prefer over the postman's relief.
