إذا لمْ يردَّ فلانُ الكتابَ

إذا لمْ يردَّ فلانُ الكتابَ

ودافعني عنهُ بالباطلِ

ودافعني عنهُ بالباطلِ

If so-and-so does not return the book,

If so-and-so won't return the book

and wrongfully puts me off over it,

And defends it with falsehood

ندبتُ له قاضياً فاضلاً

ندبتُ له قاضياً فاضلاً

وحصَّلْتُ حقِّيَ بالفاضلِ

وحصَّلْتُ حقِّيَ بالفاضلِ

I will summon a worthy judge to deal with him,

I appointed a fair judge for him

and recover my due through that worthy man.

And received my right through the virtuous one
