ويرى شفاءَ حريقِه برحيقِه
A cupbearer leads one, through love, to the throes of death,
A cupbearer who leads love into context
And sees in his nectar the cure for his burning.
And sees the cure for his burning in his lip-dew

Intoxication—all intoxication—is in his cups,
Intoxication is all sweetness in his cups
And the secret—the whole secret—is in his ewer.
And the secret is all mystery in his pitcher
