ياO مجدُMajd قَدْalready فاتَsurpassed العُلىthe heights
يا مجدُ قَدْ فاتَ العُلى
مَنْthe one who لاnot ينامُsleeps عنِinstead of السُّرىnight travel
مَنْ لا ينامُ عنِ السُّرى
O Majd, he has surpassed the heights—
O glory, the heights have passed
the one who does not forgo night travel for sleep.
Who does not sleep from traveling at night
مَنْwho يرتضيapproves لفضيلتيfor my excellence
مَنْ يرتضي لفضيلتي
إنيindeed, I أضارِبُtrade بالكرىin slumber
إني أضارِبُ بالكرى
Who would approve of my excellence?
Who accepts less for my merit
Indeed, I trade in slumber.
I strike with both hands
