لوْ لمْ تكُنْ في فُصولِ العامِ حاضِرَةٌ

بهِنّ تُتْحَفُ أبْصارٌ وأسْماعُ

بهِنّ تُتْحَفُ أبْصارٌ وأسْماعُ

Were they not present in the seasons of the year,

bringing delight to eyes and ears,

لقُلْتُ ورْدٌ منَ الأيْدي لَها شجَرٌ

لقُلْتُ ورْدٌ منَ الأيْدي لَها شجَرٌ

ومن أنامِلِهنّ الخَمْسُ أقْماعُ

ومن أنامِلِهنّ الخَمْسُ أقْماعُ

I would have said: roses whose trees are made of hands,

and whose calyxes are made of their five fingertips.
