فعرَّفَناand he showed us الفضْلَgenerosity الذيwhich ماnot لهُit has حدُّa limit
We lodged with Ya‘qub, son of Abu Haddou.
We descended upon Jacob, son of my father Haddu
And he showed us generosity that knows no bounds.
Who showed us the virtue that has no limit
وقابَلَناand he welcomed us بالبِشْرِwith cheerfulness واحْتَفَلَand lavishly provided القِرىhospitality
فلمْso not يبْقَremained لحْمٌmeat لمnot ننَلْهُwe partook of it ولاnor زُبْدُbutter
And he welcomed us cheerfully and provided lavish hospitality.
And welcomed us with good tidings, the villages rejoiced
So no meat remained that we had not tasted, nor any butter.
No flesh remained that we did not obtain, nor butter

ويَلْقاهُand reaches him منّاfrom us البِرُّkindness والشُّكْرُand gratitude والحَمْدُand praise
It is our duty to give him his due.
It is incumbent upon us to fulfill his due
And kindness, gratitude, and praise must reach him from us.
And for him to receive from us righteousness, gratitude, and praise
