أنْعامُlivestock أرْضِكَof your land تقْهَرُoverpower الآساداthe lions
أنْعامُ أرْضِكَ تقْهَرُ الآسادا
طَبْعٌan innate nature كَساclothed الأرْواحَthe souls والأجْساداand the bodies
طَبْعٌ كَسا الأرْواحَ والأجْسادا
The livestock of your land overpower lions.
The animals of your land subdue lions
An innate nature that clothed souls and bodies.
A nature that clads souls and bodies
وخَصائِصٌand special qualities للّهِbelonging to God بثّspread ضُروبَهاtheir kinds
وخَصائِصٌ للّهِ بثّ ضُروبَها
فيin الأرْضِthe earth سادَattained eminence لأجْلِهاbecause of them مَنْwhoever ساداattained eminence
في الأرْضِ سادَ لأجْلِها مَنْ سادا
And special qualities are God's; He spread their kinds
Attributes of God, He dispersed their kinds
Throughout the earth; through them, those who attained eminence did so.
Throughout the land, for their sake one ruled
إنّindeed الفَضائِلَthe virtues فيin حِماكَyour protected domain بَضائِعٌwares
إنّ الفَضائِلَ في حِماكَ بَضائِعٌ
لمْdid not تَخْشَfear منْfrom بعْدِafter النِّفاقِbrisk sales كَساداa slump
لمْ تَخْشَ منْ بعْدِ النِّفاقِ كَسادا
Indeed, virtues in your protected domain are wares
Indeed virtues in your protection are goods
That have feared no slump after brisk sales.
That no longer fear after hypocrisy loss
كانَwas الهِزَبْرُthe lion مُحارِباًwaging war فجَزَيْتَهُso you repaid him
كانَ الهِزَبْرُ مُحارِباً فجَزَيْتَهُ
بجَزاءِwith the recompense of مَنْone who فيin الأرْضِthe earth رامَsought فَساداcorruption
بجَزاءِ مَنْ في الأرْضِ رامَ فَسادا
The lion was waging war, so you repaid him
Al-Hizabr was a warrior so you rewarded him
With the recompense of one who sought corruption on earth.
With the reward of one who on earth sought corruption
فابْغِso seek المَزيدَmore منَfrom الإلاهِGod بشُكْرِهِby thanking Him
فابْغِ المَزيدَ منَ الإلاهِ بشُكْرِهِ
وارْغَمْand humble بِماwith what خُوِّلْتَهُyou have been granted it الحُسّاداthe envious
وارْغَمْ بِما خُوِّلْتَهُ الحُسّادا
So seek more from God by thanking Him,
So seek more from the Divine with gratitude
And humble the envious with what you have been granted.
And defeat through what you are enabled the envious
