ياO وَاحِدَpeerless one of الدّهْرِthe age فيin خَلْقٍphysical form وفيand in خُلُقِcharacter
يا وَاحِدَ الدّهْرِ في خَلْقٍ وفي خُلُقِ
ياO مَنْone who لهُto him الفَضْلُpreeminence فيin الماضِيthe past وفيand in الآتِيthe future
يا مَنْ لهُ الفَضْلُ في الماضِي وفي الآتِي
O peerless one of the age in form and in character,
O The One, eternal in creation and character
O you whose is preeminence in the past and in the future,
O The One with bounty, in the past and the future
ياO مُسْنِدَone who traces back السّعْدِgood fortune والنّصْرِand victory العَزيزmighty الىto
يا مُسْنِدَ السّعْدِ والنّصْرِ العَزيز الى
سَعْدٍSaʿd لنَصْرٍfor Naṣr الىto خَيْرِthe best of البَرِيّاتِcreated beings
سَعْدٍ لنَصْرٍ الى خَيْرِ البَرِيّاتِ
O you who trace good fortune and mighty victory back to
O The supporter of bliss and mighty victory to
Saʿd, for Naṣr, and thence to the best of all creation.
Blissful triumph, to the best of mankind
رِوايةٌa transmitted account فيin عَواليthe heights of المَجْدِglory ثابتَةٌfirmly established
رِوايةٌ في عَوالي المَجْدِ ثابتَةٌ
وفيand in صَحائِفِpages بِيضِgleaming المَشْرِفيّاتِMashrafi swords
وفي صَحائِفِ بِيضِ المَشْرِفيّاتِ
A transmitted account, firmly established in the heights of glory,
A legend, lofty in glory, steadfast
And on the pages of gleaming Mashrafi swords.
Inscribed in pages of noble radiance
زارَتْكَhas visited you مَزْرِيّةٌa humble offering تَرْجوhoping for عَوائِدَهاits rewards
زارَتْكَ مَزْرِيّةٌ تَرْجو عَوائِدَها
منْfrom لَثْمِkissing أنْمُلِكَyour fingertips السُّبْطِsupple السّنِيّاتِexalted
منْ لَثْمِ أنْمُلِكَ السُّبْطِ السّنِيّاتِ
A humble offering has visited you, hoping for its rewards
A orchard visited you, hoping for its yields
From kissing your supple, exalted fingertips.
From the touch of your fingers, O noble youth
صفرyellow الملابسgarments فيin شكلform وفيand in أرجsweet fragrance
صفر الملابس في شكل وفي أرج
كأنهاas though it were مذهباتgilded pieces العنبرياتambergris objects
كأنها مذهبات العنبريات
Yellow-clad, in form and in sweet fragrance,
Amber robes in shape and fragrance
As though it were gilded pieces of ambergris.
As if gilded embroideries
فانْعَمْso be gracious بعادَتِكَas is your custom الحُسْنىkindly فمِثْلُكَfor one like you مَنْone who
فانْعَمْ بعادَتِكَ الحُسْنى فمِثْلُكَ مَنْ
أجْرىhas bestowed العَوائِدَfavors حتّىeven فيupon الهَدِيّاتِgifts
أجْرى العَوائِدَ حتّى في الهَدِيّاتِ
So be gracious, as is your kindly custom, for one like you is one who
So bestow your fine custom, for one like you
Has bestowed favors even upon gifts.
Granted yields, even in gifts
بَقِيتَmay you endure ياO قَمَرَmoon of العَلْياءِeminence مُنْفَرِداًunrivaled
بَقِيتَ يا قَمَرَ العَلْياءِ مُنْفَرِداً
بالعِزِّin glory تُسْعِدُyou bring good fortune to بَيْتَthe house of المُلْكkingship بالذّاتِin person
بالعِزِّ تُسْعِدُ بَيْتَ المُلْك بالذّاتِ
May you endure, O moon of eminence, unrivaled
You remained, O moon of the exalted, singular
In glory, bringing good fortune to the royal house in your own person.
In might, bringing joy to the house of royalty, by your essence
