O namesake of God's friend, you have revived my heart.
You have revived my passions, O friend of God
And succor from you reached me swiftly, though I was far away.
Though distant, your cry hastens me
فإنْthen if عشْتُI live أُبْلِغْI shall bring فيكَfor your sake نفْسيmy soul عُذْرَهاits justification

If I live, I shall do my utmost for your sake;
If I live, I will excuse myself through you
And if I do not live, God will reward you after I am gone.
If I die, may God reward you after me
