O my peerless, most exalted master and my mainstay,

And you whose bond with me is through kin and homeland.

The excuse is clearer than a light upon a mountain.

So overlook it if you were absent from amusement and folly.

You invited the companions at midmorning on Monday,

And it holds what neither Saturday nor Sunday holds:

The day of greeting the lord and serving him.

So forgive me, and if my foot stumbles, take me by the hand.

May you remain in the shade of a life without end,

Accompanied, not confined to any fixed term.
