أَمَوْلاَيَ دُمْتَ الدَّهْرَ مَنْصُورَ أَعْلاَمِ

أَمَوْلاَيَ دُمْتَ الدَّهْرَ مَنْصُورَ أَعْلاَمِ

بِتَاسِعَةِ السَّاعَاتِ عَجَّلْتُ إِعْلاَمِي

بِتَاسِعَةِ السَّاعَاتِ عَجَّلْتُ إِعْلاَمِي

O my lord, may you endure forever, your banners victorious.

My master, you have remained victorious banners

At the ninth hour, I hastened my announcement,

By the ninth hour, I hastened my banners

لِتَعْلَمَ رَكْبَ اللَّيْلِ أَيْنَ رِكَابُهُ

لِتَعْلَمَ رَكْبَ اللَّيْلِ أَيْنَ رِكَابُهُ

فَقَدْ دَخَلَتْ لِلْغَرْبِ مُلْتَفَّ آجَامِ

فَقَدْ دَخَلَتْ لِلْغَرْبِ مُلْتَفَّ آجَامِ

so that you may know where the mounts of night's caravan are:

That the riders of the night may know where their mounts are

for they have entered a tangle of thickets toward the west.

For the sun has entered the west, wrapped in darkness

خَصَصْتُكَ يَا مَوْلَى الْمُلُوكِ بِخِدْمَتِي

خَصَصْتُكَ يَا مَوْلَى الْمُلُوكِ بِخِدْمَتِي

وَإِنْ كَانَتِ الأَفْلاَكُ مِنْ بَعْضِ خُدَّامِي

وَإِنْ كَانَتِ الأَفْلاَكُ مِنْ بَعْضِ خُدَّامِي

I have devoted my service to you alone, O lord of kings,

I singled you out, O master of kings, with my service

even though the celestial spheres are among my servants.

Though the planets are among some of my servants

لَقَدْ طَابَ مِنْ مثْوَاكَ فِي البِرِّ مّشْهَدٌ

لَقَدْ طَابَ مِنْ مثْوَاكَ فِي البِرِّ مّشْهَدٌ

غَدَا الْحُسْنُ فِيهِ ذَا فُنُونٍ وَأَقْسَامِ

غَدَا الْحُسْنُ فِيهِ ذَا فُنُونٍ وَأَقْسَامِ

Indeed, your abode offers a delightful scene of goodness,

Indeed, your dwelling in righteousness has become pleasant

where beauty has taken on many forms and kinds.

Beauty therein has become of diverse kinds and divisions

مَتَى مَا تَرَّقَ الْعَيْنُ فِيهِ تَسَهَّلَتْ

مَتَى مَا تَرَّقَ الْعَيْنُ فِيهِ تَسَهَّلَتْ

فَمِنْ أَسَدٍ حَامٍ وَمِنْ عَمَدٍ سَامِي

فَمِنْ أَسَدٍ حَامٍ وَمِنْ عَمَدٍ سَامِي

Whenever the eye rises there, it finds ease,

Whenever the eye relaxes in it, it is facilitated

from a guarding lion and from towering pillars.

By both ferocious lion and towering pillar

أَمَوْلايَ دُمْ لِلْحَقّ تُعْلِي بِنَأَهُ

أَمَوْلايَ دُمْ لِلْحَقّ تُعْلِي بِنَأَهُ

وَلِلْمُلْكِ تَبْدُو مِنْهُ فِي الأُفْقِ السَّامِي

وَلِلْمُلْكِ تَبْدُو مِنْهُ فِي الأُفْقِ السَّامِي

O my lord, live on, raising the edifice of Truth,

My master remain for the truth, elevating by virtue of it

and appearing from it for the realm on the lofty horizon.

And for the kingdom, appearing lofty in the high horizon

وَكُنْ وَاثِقاً باللهِ فِي كُلِّ وِجْهَةٍ

وَكُنْ وَاثِقاً باللهِ فِي كُلِّ وِجْهَةٍ

يُتِمُّ عَلَيْكَ الْفَضْلَ أَحْسَنَ إِتْمَامِ

يُتِمُّ عَلَيْكَ الْفَضْلَ أَحْسَنَ إِتْمَامِ

And trust in God wherever you turn;

And be certain in God in every course

He will complete His favor upon you in the finest way.

He will perfect upon you the greatest perfection

فَمَهْمَا سَلَلْتَ السَّيْفَ أَمْضَاهُ حُكْمُهُ

فَمَهْمَا سَلَلْتَ السَّيْفَ أَمْضَاهُ حُكْمُهُ

وَمَهْمَا رَمَيْتَ السَّهْمَ كَانَ هُوَ الرَّامِي

وَمَهْمَا رَمَيْتَ السَّهْمَ كَانَ هُوَ الرَّامِي

So whenever you draw the sword, His decree gives it force;

So whatever sword you unsheathe, its judgment will be decisive

and whenever you shoot the arrow, He is the archer.

And wherever arrow you shoot, it will be the shooter

وَلاَ تَغْتَرِرْ يَوْماً بِخَادِعِ زُخْرُفٍ

وَلاَ تَغْتَرِرْ يَوْماً بِخَادِعِ زُخْرُفٍ

فَإِنَّ وُجُودَ النُّورِ أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلاَمِ

فَإِنَّ وُجُودَ النُّورِ أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلاَمِ

And never be beguiled by deceptive splendor,

And do not be fooled one day by the ornaments of deceit

for light's existence is a tangle of dreams.

For the existence of light is but delusions and dreams

وَكُنْ نَحْوَ نُورِ الْحَقِّ تَعْشُو فكُلُّ مَا

وَكُنْ نَحْوَ نُورِ الْحَقِّ تَعْشُو فكُلُّ مَا

سِوَاهُ فَحُجْبٌ مِنْ ظِلاَلٍ وَأَوْهَامِ

سِوَاهُ فَحُجْبٌ مِنْ ظِلاَلٍ وَأَوْهَامِ

And keep peering toward the light of Truth, for everything

And be oriented to the light of truth rising

besides it is but veils of shadows and illusions.

For all else is but shades and illusions
